Xscape Swingers Club Discriminated against!

It seems that a few people at Cambridgeshire county council have got their knickers in a bit of a twist about a newly opened swingers club in the area called Xscape, and it seems that they will try almost any argument to get it closed.
Now don’t get me wrong, their are some places that really aren’t suitable for a swingers club, but Xscape is set on an industrial park on the very edge of the village it is linked to and has a road network that takes all traffic directly to the A14 without ever having to pass through the ’sleepy’ village of Over in Cambridgeshire.
But the latest argument put forward for it’s closure is that there is a ‘lack of public transport’, come on CCC, speak to the people that use the club, trust me, you won’t find any swingers using the fucking buss!
Even funnier is the claim from some ill educated residents that that the club will ‘attract kerb-crawlers and sex offenders to Over’, come off it, there’s not exactly a lot to see from outside the building, and when have swingers ever been considered to be related to prostitues? Swingers do it for fun, pro’s do it for cash, there is no relation at all.
The poor deluded Cllr Shona Johnstone, who represents Over on Cambridgeshire County Council, is quoted as saying: “I was extremely pleased that the application was refused” and that “I think there were very strong grounds for refusal. It is not for me to comment on what people choose to do in their own time, but I have always been extremely concerned about the transport implications.”
Shona, rather than sitting at home worrying about what we may or may not do with other open minded adults, why not pop along and see how many swingers are stood by the bus stop at 3am, you may have your worries about public transport resolved.
Good old Cllr Johnstone said Over residents had suffered “unacceptable” disturbance from large numbers of cars driving through the village late at night. Lets get this right, on a good night the club sees maybe 40 couples, so that’s around 40 cars, all of these are directed by the owners of the club to turn right at the gates upon leaving, this takes them straight to the A14 and past no houses at all, so come on Mr Johnstone, who exactly is suffering from ‘unacceptable disturbance’? Is it the sheep?
Come on CCC, give it a rest, it’s not as though the club hasn’t been opened in the middle of a residential area, it’s on an industrial unit, surrounded by fields with no direct neighbours. Where’s the issue?

I love how everyone’s jumping on a safe legal venue as being seedy when there’s dogging going on down Overcote most Saturdays, drug taking on the Village Green at night and chavs racing their cars around at all hours breaking the speed limits and making a load of noise
I’d rather anyone who wants to do this stuff is in a ‘club’ doing it where the public need not be involved if they don’t want to go through the doors
Stop living in the 50s and turning a blind eye to the REAL problems Over (like many other villages) has.

As far as I can see there has been no problems from the club, and from what I can gather a lot more of us adults should perhaps try to spice up our lives and have fun together and learn to communicate, trust and enjoy each others company then their might be a lower divorce rate. At the end of the day they are still human beings and I’m sure that driving cars like some of them do, they cant be that bad a people.

Leave them be! They’re not harming anyone, the club is in the middle of an industrial estate it’s not exactly on the High Street. Each to their own I say.

To over resident, karen, clare.
We have just come across yr blogs and you have just restored our faith in human beings. Yes we are human and yes we do have a life and its one that people like shona johnson will never experience in her life and thats the main attitude of the swinging scene that no person is treated or judged by any other. you will never see in any other club pub or social gathering a place that you never have to worry about abusive drunks because you will never see a drunken, violent or abusive person in the club,can all the local pubs say that. im also sure that every person that may use the local pubs do not always live in over so they may have to use the local bus that got taken away due to vandalism and violence and in my eyes an unacceptable behaviour. But shona never puts that on the front page of the evening news.
